Welcome to my corner of the internet! This site is in it's revamp era, so some things may be under construction. Rest assured there is plenty to see!
Hi! I'm Erin, I like to do a lotta things...
So take a peak at some of my interests up above, or I can give you a TLDR of what I'm all about...
I'm an experienced Lighting & Compositing Artist! I've worked in Vancouver's Animation Industry on various projects for the last half-decade, across a multitude of genres, including; Children's TV Animation & Theatrical Features. Lately, I've been interested in working in Documentaries as well as Stop-Motion Animation; I really enjoy educational content - with animation as its chosen medium. Whether it's the subject matter, or the production process itself; I find that there's always something valuable to learn from each project.

Detaching myself from the umbilical cord of desk-work and crawling out the digital cave that is my computer screen; I'm also an active apprentice member of UBCP/ACTRA. Lately I've been working on sets across the lower mainland, live and in-person, as a Background Actor/Performer. While my current projects are under NDA, one of the projects I'm featured in has come out recently. Click the link above for a sneak peek!
I mean everybody needs hobbies, as someone blessed with ADHD, I thrive on novelty and nuance.
Creativity is not limited to one kind of medium, so why would I limit myself to one kind of specialty?
I've been exploring my own creativity, my artistic identity, and my unique way of bringing ideas to life, through different kinds of arts and crafts; finding what imagery speaks to me through collage, learning how important consistency & tension is in my crochet work through trial and error (many errors), and analyzing interesting compositions and poses in my photography. I've been focusing on connecting with my emotional self in pursuit of the kind of art I want to make, without the weight of prior expectations or the need to be "perfect", which has been incredibly rewarding so far.
The throughline I've found in my artistic experimentation, is that I am exstensively connected to the people around me, so much so that I've been inspired to share my love of art and creation with my own community. In my own home, I've begun to organize a reoccuring Art Night for my circle of friends, people I know from all kinds of different disciplines, where the teachings are rooted at the beginning with the fundamentals of art. While not all of us went to a specialized art school, we are all insanely creative, we allow ourselves growth when there is room for it, a dedicated outlet, and a leader to guide us.
I've learned that a little bit of guidance goes a long way in terms of fostering a confidence within our creative selves, and I'm extremely excited to see how the people around me continue to grow in their own journeys through art.
Since Graduating Vancouver Film School with Honours, I went straight into the industry as a Junior Lighting & Compositing Artist, learning the ropes of episodic production and the technical learning curve of proprietary software. Many of these skills I learned starting out at Mainframe Studios, (formerly Rainmaker Entertainment, formerly formerly Mainframe Entertainment;) for a Children's TV Series, "Team Zenko Go!" in conjunction with Dreamworks Jr.'s TV Division.
A year into my contract, I had been promoted to Intermediate Lighting & Compositing Artist, citing my active learning skills and proactive attitude, helping the leads with their workload whilst setting up sequence renderlayers for the team. When that show ultimately came to an end, I was faced with a choice after staying to the very end of the production as a part of the team's reduced skeleton crew. Either I would continue with the studio in the interest of helping develop the pipeline for their next show, a new IP with Spinmaster, "Unicorn Academy;" or I would move on to a different studio that had me in their sights via recommendation for their new show with legacy IP, "Sonic Prime." I carefully weighed my options, and as my interests aligned with bigger challenges and continued growth, I chose the latter.
So began my work with WildBrain Studios. By this time I was primed (*badum dum tsss*) for episodic production, jumping into the first two episodes we had to deliver in record timing. I had a week of training to complete, including test sequence assignments and simulated exercises to flex my creative muscles, giving leadership a better picture of my strengths with the evidence to back it up. I was revved up and settling into their unique pipeline, built specifically to handle the challenges we would face in the show's production. There were many challenges, and even less time to complete them, but what made it all work was our teams consistent communication, sharing issues and bug fixes as often as they came up, the diligence of the technical directors implementing the revolving door of changes and updates we needed to keep the train rolling on the tracks. It was quite the race to the finish line, but much like Sonic, we gotta go fast! What inspired me by working on the legacy IP, was that so many eyes were going to be on our show, new and old fans of the franchise and the blue blur, which encouraged me to put my best foot forward working on it's production.

Well someone is eager aren't we? You can take a look at some of the work I've done on these productions in the slides seen below; or if you're looking for more specific profiles on each project, then find those in the Lighting & Compositing page of my portfolio. Included with some photos of myself with my respective teams, just for fun, if it might help me prove to you that I am indeed a real person. Trust on the internet seems to be pretty valueable these days.
I'm no omniscient being, I don't know where your head is at, but I have a few guesses as to why you're here; maybe you're just aimlessly clicking around the interwebs while you should be doing something productive; or maybe you're too curious for your own good and like some good internet stalking (i see you); or maybe, just maybe, you're looking for the next puzzle piece that will give you better insight & get you one step closer to the full picture of what you're trying to create.
Don't get me wrong, all of these are valid reasons to have found my corner of the internet, if you've made it this far I can only assume I'm at least mildly entertaining, given that you haven't clicked away yet. (And if you have clicked away, then you'll never see this; so I guess I'm still correct in my assumption, or is this schrödinger's website? I'm not entirely sure, but it's too early to get into the quantum mechanics of it all, and yet we persist)
If any of this sounds like you, then maybe you do care a little bit, to satisfy a curiosity or to think of a hypothetical of what would change if you brought in some more resources and skills to what you're trying to build.
If nothing else, I enjoy being helpful; I like helping myself to resources and podcasts to learn new things, I like helping my partner achieve the goals that are hard to move forward with in the day-to-day, and I like helping my friends with favors that are much easier said than done, but especially made easier when its not just you all by your lonesome. I've helped plenty of people move, clean and organize their space, and make something feel more uniquely theirs. I do what I can to aleviate a bit of that stress we all feel living our lives, as much as a friend can, sometimes all it takes is to feel heard by another person and offer a new perspective, sometimes that's enough.
Much like nuclear fusion, sometimes all it takes is smashing two heads together to create something new, to bounce ideas off one another and buzz with the excitement and potential of something not yet brought into the world, you are the creator of all the thoughts in your mind's eye, are you not? Who's to say that you aren't the one who deserves to see it to its' fruition? Help yourself to that reality, and look to the people around you who would be interested in making it known.

Good job for making it this far! Let's do a quick check in, as a treat ;)
Well that was refreshing, wasn't it? ~ no? ~ well, we're going to keep on truckin'
Why would you want to take a risk on someone whom you haven't worked with before?
Will you get along together, and hit that deadline between chats at the water cooler?
What kind of team are you looking to build? What kind of vibe are you trying to curate?
Who are you most excited to celebrate with at the wrap party?
(I mean, I hope there is a wrap party, I make a mean Shirley Temple ;)
I know what you're going to say, "but how will I know?" Well seeing that you're still here, you haven't clicked away in disgust of my antics, tells me that even the smallest part of you might be interested to see what I might be like in real time.
So do yourself a favour, get rid of the guesswork and let me tell you, get me on a call and I promise to spill the tea;
Judge for yourself if there are some meat and potatoes behind what I say.
Worse comes to worse, you have a good time watching me crash and burn on zoom in all my neurospicy glory...
Best case scenario, we have an entertaining conversation about art and film that leaves you wondering what it would be like to contain me in your walls (of the office building).
Either way, it seems like a win-win to me;
only thing I have to lose to you is time.
What do you think I'm trying to pull here?
Am I just another site floating on the internet's open ocean?
Am I an offshore oil rig trying to harvest your attention and data to appease Big Tech?
Or am I an Artist? Unafraid to get my hands dirty by digging a hole in the beach and burying myself sitting amongst my sand sculpted mermaid tail and my seashell bra, hoping someone notices the time and effort it took to create and hone the skills that enabled such artistry. All that effort to maybe sponsor a laugh, or even a quiet smile on their face while they blow air through their nose? Throw a sand dollar my way if that's you right now.
All this to say, I'm just a person, with a website to showcase their earned skills, another outlet for my creativity. One of many ways I can package and highlight the lived experiences of my past, while also authoring the potential my future holds in its' limitless collection of opportunities. I am a creative, unafraid of the unknown path laid before me, because I'll soon find out what it brings.
I guess I can show you my reel, if you really want to see it...
Message me! I'll probably send it to you, if you're not a bot... and you promise not to betray me.
Seems like you're still here, which I can only assume means that you're hooked on the artistic value I have to offer you, or you like my use of gifs. I'm going to guess it's 50/50... or dare I say 70/30...
I'm not in your brain, but maybe you can tell me?
Whether you think I would do well to contribute and add value to your project,
or you've just enjoyed the ride that is my vibe so far; then by all means, I would love to connect with you!
Just a small favor before you go; I'm always looking for feedback, so if you could tell me what you liked about the website, my portfolio, or even the gifs or quips I have on the good ol' online presence here, that would mean a lot to me!
Your feedback informs my work in a few different ways:
I get an accurate gauge on what piques the interest of folks like you!
(the viewer; industry professional and layman alike)
I get to review and reflect on feedback, taking constructive criticism to heart. Creating actionable goals to improve on!
With your help, I get to adapt and grow not only my website, but my business, keeping what works and purging what doesn't.
I'm looking forward to expanding my online presence! So I can bring more of this to our digital landscape!
